Accident disrupts traffic in Charlestown

At about 11:30 a.m. this morning a Toyota car, with registration number PA 8101, and at the time said to be driven by one Leon Thompson, slammed into a pedestrian on Main Street Charlestown, in the vicinity of the Court House.

Emergency Medicals Technicians, along with the police were soon on the scene. This media house understands that both the driver of the vehicle and the injured pedestrian were transported to the Alexandra Hospital.

As a result of the incident, traffic had to be diverted up Government Road, for vehicles coming from the east and up Happy Hill Drive, for vehicles coming from the west.
Police are investigating the accident.
