An urgent call is still being made for more of the senior men on Nevis to show up at the practice sessions which are being held in preparation for the second annual seniors’ funs and sports day.
The big event is scheduled for the ET Willet Park on Thursday 27th October and the seniors are preparing in earnest for the event.
Another practice session was held on Thursday 20th October but although the women turned up in their numbers, sadly there were only two males present.
Seniors’ coordinator on Nevis, Mrs. Garcia Hendrickson, is appealing to the senior men to show up at the final practice session, planned for Monday 24th at the ET Willet Park.
The big event promises to be one huge exhilarating affair with the athletes being involved in such events as lime and spoon; tug of war; short sprint races; walking races; throwing the ball and one of the highlights would be a race which will involve the seniors racing with a bucket of water on the head, complete with a wad, as was common in the old time days.
