The feature address at the opening ceremony of the second edition of the Americas Men’s Netball tournament was delivered by Ms. Valencia Syder, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Sports in St. Kitts. She delivered the address on behalf of Sports Minister Hon. Samal Duggins, who was off the island at the time. The ceremony took place at the Marriott’s Resort on the evening of Wednesday, 11th September.
Other speakers at the ceremony included Mr. Dionne French, President of St. Kitts and Nevis Netball Association; Mr. Dennis Knight, President of the St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee (SKNOC); and Dr. Bridget Adams, President of America’s Netball. Pastor Octavia Charles-Warner provided the invocation, and there were also dance presentations by SYNERGY and a drumming performance by Rhoyd Phipps and his crew.
The ceremony was chaired by Ms Sharon Rattan and Ms Ermelita Paul, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Ms Oretha Mitchum.
The on-court action is scheduled to begin at the Pamela Tyson Netball stadium in St. Kitts on Thursday, 12th September, and will then shift to the Grell Hull-Stevens Netball Complex in Nevis on the evening of Friday, 13th September.
