New York, New York – H.E Jacinth Henry-Martin, Ambassador of Saint Kitts and Nevis to the United States of America (USA) and Permanent Representative to the Organisation of American States (OAS), paid a working visit to New York to engage with her colleague Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Saint Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations, Her Excellency Dr Mutryce Williams, on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. She also held discussions with the team at the Consulate General in New York, which falls under the remit of the Embassy.
These engagements were geared at bolstering diplomatic and consular coordination in New York– the financial, media, cultural, and diplomatic hub of the United States of America and home to the vast majority of nationals of the Federation in the Diaspora.
The move follows the Government’s thrust to maximise its limited resources while intensifying its diplomatic and consular impact in strategic cities around the world.
Both Ambassadors agreed to ensure greater coordination to better serve their mandates at the United Nations, at the Embassy in Washington D.C, and at the OAS. In addition, Ambassador Henry-Martin spoke to the advancement of new measures to expand and optimise engagement by the Consulate.
Strengthening bilateral, multilateral, and diasporic coordination is anticipated to yield win-win partnerships for new opportunities aimed at resilient growth in Saint Kitts and Nevis as we move towards becoming a sustainable island state.
