Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 03, 2016 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of Arrest and or Convictions from the records of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period 29 Feb thru 02 March
ARRESTS:
Arrested and Bailed: George Riley Jr, of Lower Cayon was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to supply. The incident was committed on February 28, in Brigthton. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 and ordered to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Thursday 7th April at 09:00 hrs in forenoon.
Arrested and Bailed: Clive Benjamin of Upper Cayon was arrested and formally charged and cautioned for the offences of possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to supply committed on February 28, in Brighton. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 and ordered to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Thursday 7th April 2016 at 09:00hrs in forenoon.
Arrested and Bailed: Devon Herbert of New Road was arrested and formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of cannabis and cultivation of cannabis. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 and ordered to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday 4th April 2016 at nine o’clock in the forenoon.
Arrested and Bailed: Amos Francis of Mount Ible Sandy Point was arrested and formally charged and cautioned for the Offences of Possession of Cannabis, Battery on Police, Resisting arrest and Obstruction. Offences were committed on February 28, 2016 at Sandy Point. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000.00 and ordered to appear at Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on Tuesday 5th April, 2016 at 9 o’clock in the forenoon.
Arrested: Milton Phipps was arrested on a warrant in the First Instance for the Offence of Larceny of two packs of the legs quarters, the property of Canton Restaurant. The offence was committed on February 29, 2016. He was formally arrested, charged and cautioned at about 13:30hrs and he was issued with a copy of the said charges.
Arrested: Japheth Browne of White Hall was arrested for the offence of Wounding. The offence committed on the 15th of February 2016 at Brick Kiln. He was arrested, formally charged and cautioned.
CONVICTIONS:
HIGH COURT INFORMATION:- At the High Court in the St.Christopher circuit presided over by The Honorable Madame Justice Marlene Carter in the case SKDMCR2015 0010 The DPP vs Milton Bonaparte. The defendant was convicted on January 27, 2016 for indecent assault which was committed on March 01, 2011. He was sentenced to two years imprisonment to be suspended for twelve months. He is to be of good behaviour and any breach he is to be brought back before the court to be sentenced accordingly. He is also fined $3500 to be paid in one month in default six months imprisonment.
OTHER ACTIVITY:
Traffic Offences: Thirty nine (39) traffic tickets for the following offences, failing to comply with traffic sign, driving without seat belt, driving unlicenced vehicle, failing to display licence sticker, defective number plate over the period 01-02 March for the following offences, failing to comply with traffic sign, driving and keeping for use unlicenced vehicle, driving without seat belt.
Traffic Accidents: There were 5 traffic accidents from 29 February thru 02 March. One in Nevis and four (4) in St. Kitts.
Police conducted a total of 87 Vehicular Check Points and or Stop and Searches and several searches of abandoned properties during period 29 February to 02 March. The check points and searches were done in efforts to ensure Citizen Safety, by removing any found Illegal Firearms, ammunition, illegal drugs, and other instruments that can be used to commit crimes.
