Top Athletes at CSS wow Crowd

The meet got off to an exceptionally late start, as the Charlestown Secondary school held its annual sports meet at the ET Willet Park, on Tuesday 23rd February.
However, all of that was soon forgotten as the top athletes at the school thoroughly entertained the huge crowd with their exploits.
At the end of the day, some 14 records were shattered, as the athletes competed in the 400; 1200; 1500; 100; 4X100; 800; 200; 4X400 and the medley relays.
The meet was held under the distinguished patronage of former Olympian, Kurvin Wallace who indicated that he was honoured to be asked to officiate in that capacity, even though he opined that ‘it was long overdue.’
The national anthem was rendered by Mario Phillip and the athletes of Blue (Fox); Gold (Bridgewater); Green (Hamilton) and Red (Huggins), marched smartly around the Park before they were officially met by the patron.
Some of the star performers of the day, included Cejay Farrell who was upstaged by the fleet footed Marcus Dubbery; Tah-J Liburd; Tinesha Perkins; Dejal Myers; Senaldo Willet and Celeen—among others.
The races involving Cejay Farrell; Tah-J Liburd and Marcus Dubbery, were all electrifying, with the diminutive Marcus Dubbery, coming out the ultimate champion.
At the end of the day, it was the rejuvenated Huggins house or Red house doing the chest roll, led by chief cheer leader, Nichola Parris, who may have done a few somersaults and splits in the process.
The final scores;
Red house 298 points-champions
Green 250 points
Gold 149 points
Blue 141 points
