Bail: Damien Scott of Stapleton Village, St. Peters who was arrested for Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with intent to supply in the sum of $8000.00 with two sureties. He was directed to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 09:00hrs in the forenoon.
Cannabis uprooted:- The Force Unit in Nevis reported that they uprooted approximately three hundred (300) cannabis plants ranging from one (1) foot to three (3) feet in height which were found growing in pots and in the soil on a plot of land in the Brown Pasture area. No one was made answerable for the find. The discovery occurred about 23:00hrs on Tuesday February 16, 2016. The plants were seized by the Police.
Police conducted a total of 18 Vehicular Check Points and or Stop and Searches in the 24 hours leading up to February 17. The check points and searches were done in efforts to ensure Citizen Safety, by removing any found Illegal Firearms, ammunition, illegal drugs, and other instruments that can be used to commit crimes. Drivers were also checked for compliance with traffic regulations.
