It was always going to a tough race and from start to finish, the many persons who showed up to witness the Jocelyn Liburd Primary school’s senior girls’ cross country event, were greatly entertained.
The event was held on Friday 5th February and quite a number of the students participated as they took the testing route from the school, through Rawlins, through Old Manor and back on the main road then to the school.
Devery Lewis led from the outset and Aniela Fyfield and Tashari Kelly, both took the lead intermittently.
However, on the final stretch, it was Tashari Kelly who had enough fuel to burn up the last one hundred meters, to leave her competitors in the dust.
