Clydasia Dominates JLPS Junior Girls’ Cross Country Event

Clydasia Freeman ran away from the pack, to take gold in the junior girls’ cross country at the Jocelyn Liburd Primary School, on Wednesday 27th January.
The event commenced in cool conditions at about 2.30 pm with the young athletes going to the starting point, midway between the Gingerland Health Center and the Gingerland Secondary School.
As soon as Coach Kurvin Wallace gave the green light, the mass of athletes raced along the main road and made a turn at Brino’s shop and then raced back to the school.
Clydasia ran a smart race, maintaining a lead for the entire route and then finishing with a bit of a flourish.
Second, was Victoria Jarrett who took time out to congratulate Clydasia on her convincing win.
Third, was Kezonique Herbert.

The next event will be the junior boys’ cross country which will involve the same route and that will be held today Thursday 28th January, starting at 2.15 pm.
