Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 28, 2015 (RSCNPF): Ellia Jeffers of Basseterre, appeared before the Learned Senior Magistrate, Her Honour Ms Mallalieu-Webbe and was found guilty on all six charges which had been preferred against her.
Three charges were preferred against her by The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and the other three charges were preferred against her by Her Majesty’s Customs and Excise Department.
The three from the police were: Possession of Cocaine Possession of Cocaine with intent to supply Importation of Cocaine into the Federation.
The three charges preferred by Her Majesty’s Customs and Excise Department were: Possession of Cocaine under the Custom’s Act Making a false Declaration Making a false Statement to a Custom’s Officer.
Ellia Jeffers was convicted of all six charges and was fined $65000.00 FORTHWITH or four years imprisonment on the Importation of Cocaine charge.
There were no additional penalties on the other charges.
