In a letter dated 5th October, Mrs. Violet Clarke, the hard working principal of the Cecele Browne Integrated school, effectively tendered her resignation as chair of the Nevis Special Olympics Committee.
Mrs. Clarke cited family and business reasons for her decision.
She stated: “Special Olympics has been a big part of my life since 2008 during which I have built many lasting friendships and the fondest of memories with our athletes. It is therefore with a deep sense of sadness but resolve that I tender my resignation as Chair of the Nevis Committee and member of the Board, effective immediately. To ensure that the work continues to go from strength to strength I have solicited the help of some very capable and dedicated people.
