Bridget Blucher Is Coming To Nevis
Charlestown-Nevis-Renowned Singer/Evangelist, Bridget Blucher is coming to Nevis.
This was revealed by President of the Brown Hill community group, Ms Patricia Bartlette, in an interview on Thursday 10th September.
She revealed that her group has been involved in quite a number of community projects which include the skating program for children and a meals program for seniors within the community.
The community group has now turned its attention to the healing of the island, starting with the power based gospel concert which Bartlette indicated would be a rally of sorts.
The grand gospel concert featuring Bridget Blucher will be held at the Cultural Complex starting at 6pm on Sunday 20th September.
It will be held under the theme: ‘PEACE AND RECONCILIATION.’
According to Mrs. Blucher’s biography: “Her songs bring healing, comfort, and strength to those who look to gospel music for more than mere entertainment!. Encore! Encore! has been the CRY of spiritually uplifted audiences following an evening performance with Evangelist Bridget Blucher-Simms.
In 11 incredible years this high energetic vocalist whose ministry has been honored with 12 Caribbean Gospel Music Awards and was Lifestyle Gospel Entertainment Media Group Honoree for 2007.
However these accolades will not prepare you for her live performance. She raises the bar to one that could only be equaled and subsequently surpassed by her anointing.
A native of St.Vincent & Grenadines, Evangelist Blucher resided in Brooklyn, New York since 1984 before moving to the state of Florida. She is the daughter of the late Bishop (Pointer) Decosta Blucher, a spiritual Baptist and his wife the late Rev. Frances Blucher, who was a leading member of the Methodist church before joining her husband in Ministry. Like so many of today’s artistes, Evangelist Blucher began singing at a tender age in the church. Her heart was to spread the gospel through songs. With the unique style of praise and worship filled with the rhythm of the Caribbean, in essence, Evangelist Blucher makes it safe to laugh, dance and worship at the same time. An element of her singing ministry is her ability to convert words about life’s bitter-sweetness into sounds of “groan”, which she states ”only God can understand and is too deep for me to explain…”
Ms Bartlette stated: ‘Nevisians are generally a nice and peaceful people but in recent times, we have gone a little off course. This concert should be a motivating force for a fresh start of loving and sharing and peace within the community,’ she stated.
There will also some of the top local gospel acts who will share in the concert.
The cost is $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for children.
Ms Bartlette expressed gratitude to an unnamed sponsor who has donated significantly to the event and Hermitage Inn which has granted free accommodation to the renowned artiste.
She noted that it was not a profit making venture but indicated that any profits will be directed to the help Dominica cause.
She is encouraging everyone to come out in their numbers to be a part of what promises to be an inspiring, soul searching and life changing concert
