(BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS) – In an effort to diminish crimes in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, officers of The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force have successfully removed yet another firearm and ammunition off the streets of St. Kitts.
A Police Press Release stated that three persons were taken into police custody after a body search was conducted by members of the Special Services Unit (SSU) on Friday, March 6, 2015.
The release further indicated that acting on intelligence and surveillance, the officers searched a number of persons in the Springfield Cemetery and uncovered one 1 loaded semi-automatic pistol.
The men and the findings were taken into police custody.
Three days earlier (Mar.03), members of the Delta Squad stopped and searched two young men from St. Paul’s Village who were on a four-wheel ATV on the outskirts of Cayon in the vicinity of Windsor University.
A search was conducted on both men and a 9mm pistol with a quantity of matching rounds of ammunition was found on the pillion rider.
The two men, along with the pistol, ammunition and ATV were taken into custody.
