Basketball Coach Visits Nevis

Terry Layton, a qualified Basketball coach spent some time on Nevis on Wednesday, November 19, 2014.
He was instrumental in conducting an International Olympic Committee (IOC) level two solidarity course.
The experienced professional has coached national teams; Pro teams and College teams all around the world.
His profile indicates that he has acquired NBA, College & International Experience and has a Consistent Record of Game-Winning Results.

The IOC sponsored program is coordinated through the National Olympic committee in St.Kitts and Nevis and also the St.Kitts-Nevis Basketball Association.
Also accompanying Mr. Layton on the trip was the President of SKNBA, Mr. Kenroy Tobias who noted that it was a pleasure for his Association to continue to collaborate with the local Association in Nevis and other related entities in the development of the game of Basketball on the island.
Local Basketball coach, Jeffrey Lewis was also on hand to assist with the training of the children
Mr. Layton indicated that the sessions were mainly aimed at local coaches in an effort to train them in their quest to help the children to learn the basics of the game and to fall in love with the game.
The first stop was at the Charlestown Primary School, where a select number of children participated in a series of exciting drills with the Basketball coach.
The session included ball handling; dribbling and passing and several exciting variations of exercise drills.
The Basketball coach noted that he was impressed with the enthusiasm and positive response of the children.
