Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 19, 2014 (SKNIS): The dynamic housing initiative dubbed “Independence 30 – Habitat 1000” launched by the Government earlier this year to provide 1000 affordable homes to families, takes another step towards goal realization with a groundbreaking for several homes on Wednesday (August 20) in Ottley’s.
The National Housing Corporation (NHC) oversees the building process, and has had groundbreakings and ongoing construction at High Point Housing Development in Fig Tree, Stone Fort Housing Extension in Challengers and Pine Gardens Horizons in Shadwell. The Ottley’s Housing Extension brings to four the new developments under construction.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Housing the Honourable Dr. Earl Asim Martin said “this groundbreaking, is solid proof that Government is committed to improving the lives of citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis and this includes affordable housing for all.”
Deputy Prime Minister Martin urged citizens to take advantage of the opportunity afforded and to be a part of the housing revolution.
