President of the Nevis Cricket Association, Keith DIS and DAT Scarborough on Monday gave an update as regards his Association’s plans for the year 2014.
Scarborough revealed that his Association met and had a very fruitful meeting on Thursday 16th January.
At that meeting, the following decisions were made:
- The 2014 season will begin on February 13th at 1 pm at the ET Willet Park. It is hoped that on that day various sponsors will be announced, along with the Coaches and management staff for the various Nevis teams
- On that same day a T-20 game between members of the Development squad will be played
- February 15th and 16th—A 10/10 competition. Teams can register free of cost
- Second Division commences- Feb 20th
- First Division one day competition—March 1st
- First Division two day competition commences—April 5th
- Thursday 23rd January—Meeting with grounds men, selectors and umpires to plan for the season
- Deadline for registration is 7th February. Second Division $200.00 ad first Division $350.00
- The first Division two day tournament will be played but a thirty-five member squad will be selected in the interim and placed in training
Scarborough used the opportunity to encourage cricket lovers across the island and potential sponsors to support the game of Cricket on Nevis in order to help Nevis to ‘‘return to its former glory days.’
