St. Kitts wins three times in a row for the Miss Caribbean Teen Pageant
(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- Nevis’ first talented teen Miss Irveeka Nisbett placed second runner up in the 34th annual Haynes Smith Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant that was held last night Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Sugar Mill Warner Park, St. Kitts.
Miss St. Kitts, Pernelle Abraham was able to capture four of the five judged segments, amassing a total of 745 points to be crowned queen.
The 14 year old won Best Ambassadorial Wear, Best Performing Talent, Best Production Number and Best Evening Wear.
Like most shows the interview segment is always challenging and last night’s show was no different. Most of the teens stumbled to answer their questions that were based on their biography. The exception was Miss Jamaica, Josselle Fisher, who was very fluent in that segment.
It was a tight competition but at the end of it all first Runner-up position went to Miss Barbados with 696.5 points, while there was a tie between Miss Nevis, Irveeka Nisbett and Miss Montserrat, Vanice Tuitt, with 693 points for the Second Runner-up position, and Miss Dominica, Jasmine Laville with 691.5 points was adjudged Third Runner-up.
Entertainers for the evening included Yanus Bagnall, SK’s Finest Dancers, KC5 and St. Maarten’s Junior Road March Champion.
The guest artist for the evening, ‘Gharlic’ created an explosion on stage with his brilliant performance.
The other contestants were Miss USVI – Dejanique Ledee, Miss St. Lucia – Pauline Francis, Miss Barbados – Heidi Barrow and Miss Grenada – Leanne Purcell.
