Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Celebrations start today in Charlestown

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- The annual tradition of the lighting of the community Christmas trees hosted by the Department of Community Development in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA), continues this year, 2013. The first ceremony for this year, as is usual, would be held in Charlestown.

The tree in Charlestown would be lit on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the Memorial Square under the patronage of Mrs. Rovita Butler.

As the days follow, twenty-two other villages would host ceremonies to switch the lights on for their Christmas trees.
