On March 13, 2025, officers from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) recovered three illegal firearms along with matching ammunition on St. Kitts. The first firearm was seized during the early morning execution of a search warrant. This operation involved police officers from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU), the Special Service Unit (SSU), and members of the St. Kitts and Nevis Customs and Excise Department’s K9 Unit. The search was conducted on a vehicle owned by Glenroy Samuel of Conaree, St. Kitts, which led to the recovery of one pistol (plate number: 45 FNX) and two matching rounds of ammunition. Mr Samuel was present during the search and was taken into police custody along with the firearm.
The second illegal firearm, a Taurus 9mm pistol with two matching rounds of ammunition, was recovered during a routine afternoon search of a vacant lot in the Conaree area. The third firearm was found during a search of an abandoned building in the Dewar’s area, where police officers discovered one Mac-11 submachine gun along with four matching rounds of ammunition. All items were taken into custody for further investigation.
As of now, no one has been held accountable for the findings of the two firearms. The Crime Scene Unit of the RSCNPF processed all three locations and collected items of evidential value. Investigations into these matters are currently underway, and the public will be kept updated on any developments. Anyone with information regarding these or any other criminal activities is strongly encouraged to contact the nearest police station.
