Charlestown Primary School held its annual sports meet on Wednesday, February 19, at the Nevis Athletic Stadium.
The distinguished patrons of the event were Mrs. Alice Swanston, a former principal of the school, and the beloved Shelly “AUNTY SHELLY” Taylor, a long-serving chef at the school. In an interview, Shelly expressed confidence in the school’s athletes, stating that “Something Ah kip,” indicating that CPS aims to achieve a sixth consecutive victory at the Interprimary games this year.
The athletes competed in various events, including the 400 meters, 800 meters, 1200 meters, 100 meters, and both the 4×100 and 4×400 meters relays.
Although intermittent showers affected the meet, by the end of the day, the Blue House celebrated championship honors. The final scores were as follows:
– Blue House: 327 points (champions)
– Green House: 305 points
– Red House: 245 points
