Athletics : Khylinn And Shandon Excite At GSS Seniors Cross Country

On the afternoon of Monday, November 25th, the Gingerland Secondary School hosted its annual cross-country events for senior girls and boys.

The girls’ race began at the school’s main gate. They turned left by the Police Station, ran through Hardtimes, continued through Rawlins, and exited at Zetlands. From there, they returned to the main road and came back to the school.

The boys’ race also started with a left turn at Brino’s shop. They went through Hardtimes, crossed 16 Acres, passed through Rawlins, exited at Zetlands, and made their way back to the school.

In the girls’ race, Khylinn Prentice, competing in her first year at the senior level, dominated and maintained her lead back to the school.

The highlight of the boys’ race saw Shandon Burton and Trevorn Greenaway-Hanley exchanging the lead at various points. However, Trevorn struggled during the final portion of the race due to pain on his right side, which allowed Shandon to pull ahead and ultimately claim the gold medal.
