Basseterre, St.Kitts (September 24th 2013):- On December 11th 2012 the Leader of the Opposition, Hon. Mark Brantley filed a Motion of No Confidence with the National Assembly of St.Kitts and Nevis. This watershed event sparked a movement and a consciousness that has been in the hearts of all patriots of the Federation for quite some time. It is a movement that has grown out of a need to uplift our Country and our people to a level and standard of which we can all be proud. It is a Movement that brings our people closer together so that the Country we love can be made better.
As we celebrate our 30th Anniversary of Independence it is time once again – for the people of St.Kitts and Nevis to come first. The Elected Majority in the National Assembly of St.Kitts and Nevis, representing the People’s Action Movement (PAM), the People’s Labour Party (PLP), and the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) have heeded the overwhelming call of the Nation for healing, reconstruction and UNITY.
On Thursday, September 26th 2013 the Federation of St.Kitts and Nevis will see the beginning of the Era of UNITY, as TEAM UNITY will be officially launched and its leader announced and presented to the world.
The historic launch of TEAM UNITY will take place at Greenlands Park and will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m., with a pre-launch entertainment feature.
The MV Sea Hustler and the MV Mark Twain will be making special trips from Nevis at a cost of $1 per person. Both vessels are scheduled to depart Charlestown at 6:00 p.m., with the return being slated for 30 minutes after the end of the UNITY launch.
Thirty years ago the strength and power of UNITY between St.Kitts and Nevis – thanks to Dr. the Rt Hon. Sir Kennedy Simmonds and Dr. the Rt. Excellent Sir Simeon Daniel – allowed an entire Nation to experience, first hand, the dawn of a new Era of Freedom. This Thursday, September 26th the entire Nation will be present and the whole world will be watching the dawn of the Era of UNITY in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
