SKN President Convinced That Triathlon Can Become A Big Sport In The Federation

Jane Hansom, the President of the St. Kitts and Nevis Triathlon Federation and a renowned triathlete, firmly believes that triathlon has the potential to become popular in St. Kitts and Nevis. The sport involves swimming, running, and cycling. She has observed that many young individuals in the region are proficient swimmers and natural track athletes. Jane is confident that with access to bicycles, these individuals can develop their skills and become well-rounded triathletes.

She emphasized that in triathlon, one doesn’t need to excel in all three areas, as strengths in one aspect can compensate for weaknesses in another. Furthermore, Jane mentioned that highly regarded universities in the USA are offering scholarships for triathletes, making it easier to secure a triathlete scholarship than, for instance, a swimming scholarship. She is dedicated to making this opportunity available to interested athletes in St. Kitts and Nevis and aims to begin training as soon as possible in collaboration with the well-known swimming coach, James Weekes.
