Traffic Court Convictions St Kitts

On September 26, 2024, the following individuals appeared before the Basseterre Magistrate Court presided over by Her Honor Mrs. Sherry-Ann Liburd-Charles and were convicted for various traffic offenses. They were fined as follows:

1. Dhanraj Manohar of Shadwell was convicted and fined:
– $1000 for driving without insurance, payable by September 27, 2024.
– $750 for driving with an expired driver’s license, payable within 1 month or face 14 days imprisonment.
– $1000 for driving with a dark tinted windshield, payable within 2 months or face 14 days imprisonment.

2. Donna Merritt of Lime Kiln was convicted of driving without due care and attention and fined $2000, payable within 1 month or face 14 days imprisonment.

3. Collis King of East Street faced two separate convictions for driving without due care and attention:
– He was fined $2000, payable within 3 months or face 14 days imprisonment, for driving without due care and attention on September 14, 2023.
– Fined $750 for driving without due care and attention on February 15, 2024, payable within 1 month or face 14 days imprisonment.

4. Joseph Carty of Newtown was fined $1500 for driving without due care and attention, payable within 1 month or face 14 days imprisonment.

Thirteen cases were adjourned for trial at a later date, and eighteen cases were withdrawn due to payment of the traffic tickets.
