On March 14th, 2024, between 9 PM and 9:30 PM, an accident happened on the main road of Nevis Island, near Low Lands/Vaughn’s Village. The accident involved two vehicles – a motor pickup with license number PA-8571 and a motor car with license number P-4937. Derrick Liburd, a resident of Malcolm Hill, Nevis, was driving the motor pickup, while Glenville Fahie and his passenger Marcia Fahie, both from Ramsbury, Nevis, were in the motor car.
Fortunately, no pedestrians were involved in the accident, but three people were injured – Ms. Fahie, her passenger, and Mr. Liburd. They were taken to Alexandra Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and observation. Luckily, there were no fatalities.
Based on investigations, it seems that Mr Liburd was driving towards Charlestown from Cotton Ground when a vehicle coming from the opposite direction collided with his vehicle’s right rear wheel. This caused the pickup truck to flip. Ms Fahie, who was driving towards Cotton Ground from Charlestown, heard the sound of the collision as she arrived in the vicinity of Low Lands/Vaughn’s Village.
