On Sunday, March 3rd, an emotional reunion took place at ET Willet Park during a local match between Brown Hill and Highlights International.
Ed Arthurton, former captain of the Nevis team, reunited with his teammate and all-rounder Al Liburd after 46 years.
Arthurton moved to the United States in 1977 and is currently holidaying back home, making this the first time Liburd has seen him in many years.
The two men reminisced about their playing days and showcased their skills for the people of Nevis. Arthurton noted a significant difference between the old Grove Park and the current ET Willet Park: “They now have a motorized roller.
We used to have to be pulling a roller up and down the pitch!” Both men stopped at the park to watch the current cricketers on show.
