The main facilitator of the Krav Maga course in self defence, which is ongoing at the St. George’s church hall, Goncalo Esteves, indicated on Thursday that the course has been going well and that the participants are learning and having fun in the process.
Some of the skill sets being taught, include defending oneself from knife attacks, gun attacks and attacks with sticks or other objects.
The participants are also being taught how to disarm persons with weapons.
Mr. Esteves pointed out that if a person threatens someone with a gun and is doing a lot of talking, more than likely, they do not intend to shoot the person, or they may have done so already.
How the persons trained in Krav Maga handle the situation, may well be the difference between life and death.
Apart from the many hours of sacrificial training, Esteves and his wife have also found time to enjoy Nevis, making special mention of his enjoyment of the Amory Polly mango and the Nevis soursop.
