BASSETERRE (4 May 2023): Minister of Tourism, The Hon. Marsha Henderson graciously accepted on Wednesday US$20,000 from the Republic of China (Taiwan) for the staging of the 25th Anniversary of the St. Kitts Music Festival, which takes place 22-24 June 2023.

Minister Henderson said that she was extremely grateful for the support, and pointed out that the contribution will certainly assist in producing one of the most spectacular musical events in the Caribbean.

“On behalf of the Government of St. Kitts-Nevis I would like to thank the people of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for their contribution to nation-building, particularly in the development of our tourism industry,” Henderson said. “The St. Kitts Music Festival is celebrating 25 years, which is a significant milestone for us. Also, this year we are celebrating 40 years of diplomatic ties with Taiwan. So this contribution certainly underscores the deep and enduring friendship between our two nations.”

Minister Henderson added that the Festival provides tremendous returns to the economy in the month of June, which traditionally is a slow period for the tourism industry.
