The tournament is dubbed the PREMIER’S CUP, as it is sponsored by the Premier of Nevis, Hon. Mark Brantley effectively saw competitive Football restarted at the senior level on Nevis.
The new executive of the Nevis Football Association, got their first tournament underway on Sunday 27th November, at the Nevis Athletic Stadium.
There were no speeches and no preliminary fanfare and so match one of the doubleheaders, saw Bath United up against Pioneers.
The Pioneers team gave it their all, but they certainly were no match for the fleetfooted Bath men, who slammed home not one; not two, but five goals before the final whistle.
The goal scorers were: Aljae Newton in the 31st minute; Venreece Richards in the 50th; Vibert Stephen in the 65th; Venreece Richards again in the 80th and Akeem Taylor in the 86th minute.
Thursday 1st December will see another doubleheader at the same venue:
Bath United v Hardtimes at 6 pm and Youths of the future versus Pioneers at 8 pm
