Charlestown-Nevis –The Police had issued a missing person report for Zona Hamilton of Barnes Ghaut Village, who was last seen on Government Road, on Wednesday 21st September, at approximately 1 am.
At that time, she was said to be wearing a brown blouse, a plaid skirt with blue, brown, green, and red stripes, and black Sneakers.
Search parties led by Mr. Brian Dyer and the Nevis Disaster office and which included Fire and Rescue, Police officers and civilians conducted widespread searches for Miss Hamilton.
Sadly, from reports received, her deteriorating body was found in a car, located at the top of Government Road, during the morning of Saturday 24th September.
The reports further indicate that after the District Medical officer had made his pronouncements, the body was hastily taken to the Bath cemetery for immediate committal.
This was confirmed by Pastor Cecil Bartlette of the United Pentecostal Church, situated at Marion Heights.
According to him, Miss Hamilton was a faithful attendee at his church.
She sometimes walked it all the way from Barnes Ghaut and was still the first person at church on many Sundays.
He pointed out that she was always driven back home.
Zona Hamilton was 43 years old at the time of her death.
