Football : Under 17 Footballers Return Home

The two Nevisian under 17 footballers, Jamal Lewis and Chris Browne, who were part of St. Kitts and Nevis under 17 football team, which participated in the recent CONCACAF qualifiers, held in the Dominican Republic, returned home on Tuesday 6th September.

The two Footballers and accompanying officials were met at the Oualie ferry terminal by the Minister of Sports, the Hon. Eric Evelyn and the Director of Sports on Nevis, Mr. Jamir Claxton.

The two officials who accompanied the players were: Sianna Leader -Manager and Dr. Duanna Pemberton-Jeffers-team doctor.

Mr. Claxton warmly welcomed the players back home and congratulated them on their recent achievements in the Dominican Republic.

Minister Evelyn congratulated the two players not only on their team’s two victories from the three matches played but also due to the fact that Jamal Lewis was the Captain of the team and Chris Browne was his Vice Captain.

He encouraged them to continue to work hard on developing their skills and not to forget their academics as well.

Captain of the team, Lewis, in his brief remarks, stated that it was an honour to lead the team and he is looking forward to continue representing the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, in the future.

He is also hoping that his team will qualify for the next round of matches.
