Nevisians are already enjoying a taste of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2022 edition.
On Monday 22nd August, CPL coaches visited Nevis and held coaching/scouting sessions with some of Nevis’ finest and most promising young cricketers.
The intense session was held at the ET Willet Park and from all reports, the youthful cricketers had a tremendous outing.
Then on Wednesday 24th August, scores of Nevisians journeyed to St. Kitts to witness the commencement of the 6ixty cricket tournament, which is a fast-paced ten overs per side tournament, with some strict guidelines and this tournament is serving as a prelude to the actual CPL matches.
Three women’s matches were played on that day and created some real excitement.
Nevisian Carla Glasgow was the first to win a cool $500.00 dollars after she attracted the adjudicators with her dance moves at the boundary’s edge and Nevisian resident and Guyanese national, Chandrowtie Harrichand, also copped a cool $500.00 US for her dance moves as well.
Matches continue today at Warner Park with the men’s teams in focus.
