Five Bills To Receive First Reading, Two Bills To Have Second Reading On Thursday, November 28

Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 26, 2019 (SKNIS): The Order Paper has been circulated for a sitting of the National Assembly to be held at the National Assembly Chambers, Government Headquarters, Basseterre, on Thursday 28th November 2019, at 10:00 am. Notice has been given.

The Honourable Prime Minister and Minister responsible for Finance, Sustainable Development, National Security, People’s Empowerment and Constituency Empowerment, Dr. Timothy Harris, will seek leave to introduce and have read a first time Proceeds of Crime (Amendment) Bill/Asset Recovery Bill, 2019; Anti-Money Laundering (National Committee) Bill, 2019; and Non-Governmental Organizations (Amendment) Bill, 2019.

Additionally, the Honourable Prime Minister will move the second reading of Constitution of St. Christopher and Nevis (Tenure of the Office of the Prime Minister (Amendment) Bill, 2019, which had its first reading on February 21, 2018.

The Honourable Attorney General and Minister responsible for Justice and Legal Affairs, Elections and Communications, Senator Vincent Byron, will seek leave to introduce and have read a first time Electronic Communications Bill, 2019.

Furthermore, The Honourable Minister responsible for the Ministry of Agriculture, Health, National Health Insurance, Human Settlement, Community Development, Gender Affairs, Social Services, Environment, Cooperatives and Lands, Eugene Hamilton, will see leave to introduce and have read a first time National Conservation and Environmental Management Bill, 2019.

Also, The Senior Minister and Minister responsible for Labour, Social Security and Ecclesiastical Affairs, Vance Amory, will move the second reading of Seventh-day Adventist Church Incorporation (Amendment) Bill, 2019, which had its first reading on 30th July 2019.

The National Assembly will be carried live on ZIZ Radio (96 FM) and participating radio stations. It can also be viewed live on TV Channel 5 in St. Kitts and Channel 98 in Nevis. It will also be streamed live at www.zizonline.com
