Gingerland, Nevis – Long-serving President of the Empire Sports Club, Hon. Eric Evelyn has revealed that he is truly pleased with the numerous achievements of the club, over the years. This, as the club, celebrates its 40th anniversary.
The club which started as a mere Cricket club has expanded over the years, under the dynamic leadership of the Hon. Minister, who is now incidentally, the Minister of Sports. The club now, not only plays Cricket but is involved in other sports and has been involved in a number of significant community activities, including care for the elderly, mentoring youngsters in the community and contributing to charitable causes.
The activities to celebrate this significant milestone commenced with a church service at the Henry Memorial Wesleyan Holiness Church, on Sunday, November 3rd, which was attended by the President and a number of club members, all dressed in full uniform. Following the church service, club members visited several sick and shut-in individuals within the community and gave them gift packages.

Saturday, November 16th – Awards and cocktail at NEPAC
Sunday, November 17th – Gospel concert at the Henry Memorial Wesleyan Holiness Church
Saturday, November 23rd – Community Day
Sunday, November 24th – Hanley’s Road day at the Community Center grounds
Saturday, December 7th – 35 and over dance at Riviere House
