MIAMI, USA — Tropical Storm Dorian, the fourth named storm of the 2013 hurricane season, continued to move west-northwestward over the tropical Atlantic on Thursday.
According to the National Hurricane Center in Miami, at 5:00 pm EDT on Thursday, the centre of Dorian was located about 1,670 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands, moving toward the west-northwest near 18 mph. This general motion was expected to continue Thursday night, followed by a gradual turn toward the west by late Friday.
Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph, with higher gusts. Some slight strengthening is possible during the next 48 hours as Dorian moves over warmer waters. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles from the centre
