Gingerland –Nevis- What has become the now annual Nevis Heritage Village open day, is set for this coming Friday -10th May, at the Nevis Heritage Village site, located at Fothergills in Gingerland.
The action kicks off at 10 am and will go until approximately 5 pm.
The day’s activity, will be held under the theme: ‘Celebrating Nevis’ Tourism through festivals.’
During the course of the day, there will be lots of local delicacies on sale.
These will include but are not limited to: Hot bread and butter-freshly baked in the traditional box oven; coconut tarts; potato pudding; corn meal and fish with ground provisions; fried fish; goat water; cassava mussa; cassava bread; ital and dhal.
Add to that, a wide assortment of drinks, including local drinks.
Throughout the course of the day, there will also be musical entertainment by a DJ and performances by local folklore groups.
Tours of the facility will also be provided for interested persons, so that they will be able to see firsthand, a wide array of artefacts and reminisce on the traditional way of village life.
The general public is invited to be a part of an exciting day out for the family.
