Charlestown-Nevis-Minister of Social Development, Hon. Eric Evelyn, was apt in his description of the lady of the moment.
He described her as ‘looking regal.’
He spoke of no other person than Ms. Lorraine ‘Auntie Lu’ Herbert, who celebrated her 90th birthday on Thursday 7th February, at the Flambuoyant senior citizens home.
A smiling and obviously content AUNTIE LU, was surrounded by some of her children, grandchildren, other family members and friends.
Minister Evelyn, in presenting a gift basket and plaque to the celebrant, congratulated her on her significant contributions to the society and pointed out that all of her children and grandchildren are also contributing significantly, in the parts of the world that they have chosen to live.
He asked her to continue to bat well, so that she could get to the coveted century mark

The invocation was done by Rev. Bonnie Byron; all present sang the well-known hymn ‘Great is thy faithfulness;’ the scripture reading, by one of her daughters, Mrs. Jennifer Hodge and the birthday song was sung by all present.
Family members and friends present also gave their personal words of commendations to the special lady who smiled sweetly and said ‘Thank you.’
