The semifinals in the Ministry of Education/Department of Sports Primary Schools Football tournament, is set for the ET Willet Park, later today-Thursday 29th November.
Chief coordinator of the tournament, FIFA international coach, Kimbel Ward, has indicated that the two matches are expected to be of a very high standard and very competitive.
The first match begins at 1.30 pm when the Charlestown Primary, the number one team emerging from the preliminary rounds, will engage the fourth placed team, Elizabeth Pemberton Primary.
The second match will commence at 2.30 pm and that is when team two, the Ivor Walters Primary, will engage team three, the defending champions, St. Thomas’ Primary.
There will be no matches on Friday 30th November, as all roads will lead to the St. Thomas’ Primary School, where the annual skipping competition for the Primary Schools will be held.
Ward further indicated that the grand finals will be played on Wednesday 5th December.
On that day, starting at 1.30 pm the two losing teams from the semifinal encounters, will face off for third spot overall and then at 2.30 pm the two top teams from the semifinals, will tangle.
He is expecting huge crowds on the two days left in the exciting tournament.
Meanwhile, the final preliminary game of the tournament, which should have featured the Maude Cross Preparatory School and the Ivor Walters Primary School, was cancelled, due to the unavailability of the MCPS team.
