Accepting an invitation from the Government of Japan, Premier Mark Brantley and Mrs. Brantley will depart the Federation today for Japan. While in Japan the Premier will hold high level meetings with the Foreign Minister of Japan and his team as well as head of the Japanese overseas development agency JICA. The Premier and Mrs Brantley will visit Tokyo, Hiroshima and Osaka. In Hiroshima he will lay a wreath in honour of those who lost their lives in the Great War.
Accompanying the Brantley’s to Japan are St Kitts and Nevis Ambassador to Japan, Her Excellency Jasmine Huggins and Foreign Service Officer, Shanelle Simmonds.
The Premier and Mrs Brantley will return to the Federation on November 11th.
Meanwhile Deputy Premier Alexis Jeffers will depart Nevis today for Jakarta Indonesia for six days. Deputy Premier Jeffers will attend meetings on behalf of Premier Mark Brantley. The Deputy Premier will return to Nevis on November 4th.
The Honourable Spencer Brand has been appointed Acting Premier of Nevis.
