The St. Kitts-Nevis Football Association (SKNFA), held a very important press conference on the afternoon of Friday 24th August.
The press conference was held at Football House, located at Lozack Road and commenced shortly after 1 pm.
The big news to be shared on that afternoon, was the fact that young Petrez Williams of the SL Horsfords St. Paul’s FC, had recently signed with Portland Timbers, a professional Football club in the USA.
The session was chaired by the Association’s media professional, Mr. Andre Huie and also sitting at the head table, were President Anthony Johnson, Mr. Stanley Jacobs; the man of the moment himself, along with his parents and the manager of his local team, SL Horsfords St. Paul’s FC.
Mr. Jacobs revealed that Petrez tried out successfully last year with Portland Timbers and had now signed with them initially for one year.
President Anthony Johnson congratulated the young player, his parents and his local club, SL Horsfords St. Paul’s FC and wished him well in his tour of duty overseas.
He noted that the development work championed by his association is indeed paying great dividends.
Also speaking at the press conference were the parents of the young Footballer who noted that they were really proud of him and the manager of his club who pointed out that his signing to an international team, is a win not only for himself and St. Paul’s but significantly also, a win for St. Kitts and Nevis.
It is understood that Mr. Williams will leave shortly to commence his stint in the USA.
