Manager of the Nevis under 23 Netball team which participated in the OECS under 23 Netball tournament, recently held in St. Kitts, Miss Vera Herbert, has congratulated her team for giving of their best, during the tournament.
She pointed out that there is currently no structural base for competitive Netball on the island, as there is no Primary schools, Secondary schools, nor local Netball tournaments and pointed out that the young ladies were either still in High School of fresh from High school.
They also faced teams with young ladies who were generally much older and more experienced.
Miss Herbert stated that she was really impressed with the ability and agility of the top teams in the tournament.
She is also convinced that next year the girls will perform a lot better, based on their experience this year.
She also thanked the Nevis Island Administration, Nevis Spring Water and NASPA for their assistance and noted that the accommodation in St. Kitts was really good.
She is also appealing to persons who have ideas and opinions as to the way forward for Nevis Netball to come forward with such ideas and be willing to volunteer their time, effort and other resources, towards getting Netball on Nevis, back to its previous high standard
