Curtis Morton:
Football Coach, Eddy Caines Richards is still remembering the early years when he initiated his Football coaching program for children.
‘We started with just four children,’ he said. ‘And Evered WEBBO Herbert was the first coach,’ he reminisced. He noted that Nevis Multi Lines was the first sponsor of the program.
He indicated that the program has grown in leaps and bounds and gave credit to his many sponsors, some of whom have been on board for a long time. Some of them are: Premier Mark Brantley; Nevis Multi Lines; Social Security, Bank of Nevis and Nevis Credit Union.
Registration forms are currently available at all of the Primary schools and the camp will commence on Monday 16th July and will run for two weeks.
A small fee of $50.00 is required for registration purposes and this will take care of a t-shirt and water and snacks, for the entire two weeks
The children will be taught the basic skills of Football, such as passing, dribbling, controlling, heading and for those who are interested, there will also be some work done with potential goal keepers.
Richards is encouraging the parents to register quickly and is admonishing the children to learn as much as they could, as when the vacation period ends, the Primary Schools’ Football tournament, should be commencing shortly thereafter.
