Remote Control Car Race Set For Sunday
A new phenomenon will hit the St. James Raceway, this coming Sunday-17th June.
According to one of the main Coordinators of the event, James Weekes, it will be ‘car racing with a difference.’
No, it will not be the usual Drag racing but instead, over twenty men, will use their Fathers’ day afternoon to race remote control cars, for bragging rights, in the first instance!
When quizzed on whether or not it can be considered merely a situation where ‘big men will be playing with toys?”
Weekes quipped: ‘I would immediately say, the difference between men and boys, is the prize of their toys.’
He alluded to the fact that the remote control cars can be very expensive, especially if you are looking for those that are really fast.
He also noted that once purchased, additions can be made to enhance the speed and control of the ‘vehicles’. He stated that some of the cars can clock amazing speeds.
Weekes further indicated that the owners of the cars have been quietly practicing over the last few weeks and have now decided to come public and entertain the general public in a huge way.
The action is set to commence at 3 pm and the admission is absolutely free!
Weekes noted that the determined winner on the day, will not only be the person with the fastest car but the person who can control their car the best.
He is inviting everyone to come out and witness an exciting event.
