Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 12, 2018 – Funeral services are set for Friday 13 April, for Priston Flemming, whose partially decomposed body was found in the Old Road mountains on April 1. Fleming went missing on February 27.
Funeral services for the Newton Ground villager, begins at 2 pm at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sandy Point.
The family has requested no flowers as the body has been cremated.
Flemming is survived by his mother Gail Flemming, two grandmothers, a grandfather, two sisters and numerous relatives and friends.
A forensic pathologist who performed a post mortem examination on Flemming’s body concluded he was strangled to death.
Flemming is the Federation’s ninth murder victim for 2018.
Parliamentary Representative and Leader of the Opposition, the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas has expressed condolences Flemmings mother and her family.
“We of this entire Constituency 6 and those of us around the country and beyond who support you, feel a deep sense of loss, almost hopelessness and even anger for this senseless barbaric death. Let us not lose hope. Let us instead put our trust in God and pray that those who are responsible for this cowardly act that has caused so much pain and agony will be caught and tried and brought to swift and exact justice. The community of Newton Ground, myself and many, many more are praying for you, and we of Constituency 6 shall do whatever we can to help,” said Dr. Douglas, who is presently overseas and will personally express his condolences on his return.
