Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 12, 2018 – Ten days after the double murder of the Finch sisters and the killing of a Phillips’ man, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force said Monday it is “investigating an attempted murder incident in which two young men were shot and injured” just after 9 p.m. on Sunday.
“Officers from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force were in Verchild’s conducting patrols when they heard what sounded like gunshots being fired in the Old Road area. They responded and were later joined by other officers from various units, as well as soldiers from the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force. Upon arrival, they were directed to two victims with what appeared to be gunshot wounds,” a police release said.
Police said Old Road residents, 23-year-old Dejohn Foster and 21-year-old Ajani Reef were sitting on the steps of the Old Road Community Center when a lone gunman appeared and began firing shots at them.
“They ran, but were shot several times about the body. Both were transported to the J.N.F. General Hospital in a police vehicle,” the police said.
Reef underwent emergency surgery and is listed as being in a serious, but stable condition, while Foster was listed as being in a stable condition.
Buckie Got It disclosed that Foster was shot in his left hip and right arm, while Ref received injuries to his left rib cage and right thigh.
Police said the scene was processed by members of the Crime Scene Unit and items of evidential value were taken into custody.
