At the end of the under 21 Basketball tournament which concluded on Sunday 4th March, a brief presentation ceremony was held, which was ably chaired by Miss Wanda parry, (NABA) President.
Minister of Sports, Hon. Eric Evelyn, in offering brief remarks lauded the two finalists in St. George’s and St. John’s and especially congratulated the St. George’s team for winning the tournament.
He also thanked Mr. Robelto Liburd and LEFCO for sponsoring the tournament and encouraged the basketballers to continue to lift their game and take Basketball on Nevis to higher heights.
The placements in the tournament were as follows:
St. George’s –champions
St. John’s -2nd
St. Paul’s -3rd
St. Thomas’ 4th
St. James’ 5th
Hon. Eric Evelyn then teamed up with Hon. Troy liburd, in presenting the trophies and medals to the deserving winners.
The St. George’s team then celebrated in style, with a mini fireworks demonstration.
