St. Kitts-based broadcast journalist and media personality Andre Huie will be hosting a new morning radio show. Caribbean Morning will air live on weekday mornings from 7am to 9am on online radio station Voice of the Caribbean (VOC) Radio (www.voiceofthecaribbean.net). The show will feature Caribbean music, interviews and various feature segments each day and will air live from the station’s office on Market Street in Basseterre. “I am really excited about this new venture. Voice of the Caribbean Radio has been broadcasting for just over two years and this is the first time we are hosting a live daily radio show,” Huie, who is Managing Director of Voice of the Caribbean radio said in a press release. “This will be a very dynamic morning show with various segments each day that is guaranteed to provide quality morning entertainment for a Caribbean audience.”
Each day, a different feature segment at 8:15am will be aired on the show. Every morning, the Caribbean Morning news and sports will air at 7:30am. On Mondays at 8:15 will be Caribbean Attractions, which is a feature on one of the tourist attractions of the Caribbean. On Tuesdays at the same time is The Breakfast Table segment, which is a special feature or interview with a newsmaker on a topical subject affecting the Caribbean. On Wednesdays it’s Rearview Mirror, a look back at a poignant moment in Caribbean History; Thursday is Trash Talk, a segment by the St. Kitts Solid Waste Management Corporation and on Fridays is Around the Caribbean, which is an interview with a journalist from a Caribbean media house to discuss top news issues of the respective countries. “With all these segments each day, there is something for everyone to listen to, making Caribbean Morning Live a really interesting and entertaining show,” Huie said. “I am really looking forward to this show and encourage everyone to tune in.”
