Approximately thirty local coaches, took the opportunity to participate in a FIFA hosted Grassroots course and festival, which commenced at the Credit Union conference room on Tuesday 6th December.
The opening ceremony was chaired by President of the Nevis Football Association, Mr. Rohan Isles, who implored all present to learn as much as possible and make the most of such a golden opportunity to develop as coaches.
Representative of the SKNFA, Mr. Raymond Smith also gave brief remarks and brought well wishes from President Johnson and the entire executive. He noted that he was pleased to see such a course actually take place in Nevis.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports, Mr. Keith Glasgow, also added his words of commendation to FIFA, the SKNFA and the local Football Association, for working together to coordinate such a course and admonished the participants to use the knowledge gained to the benefit of the young people of Nevis.
He then officially declared the workshop open.
The vote of thanks was eloquently delivered by Director of Youth, Miss Zahnela Claxton, who thanked all of the persons and organizations who helped to make such a course happen.
The facilitator for the course is Mr. Vin Blain who noted that he was happy to be back in Nevis and asked the participants to learn but have fun in the process.
The course is set to conclude on Saturday 10th December.
