St. James Parish ready to “Surge with Virge”
Charlestown, Nevis (Wednesday, November 30th, 2016)- “Let us Surge with Virge” is the new call to order as The Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) Candidate for the St. James Parish Constituency, Mr. Virgil Browne assured constituents and well wishers that he is the “Champion of the people”!
The well attended candidacy presentation took place on Saturday, November 26th at the Franklyn Browne Community Center, which coincidentally is named after his father.
The political newcomer revealed that a bid for “Browne” will see vast development and mass improvements to the livelihoods of many of the St. James Parish. .
The former West Indian Cricket Team Massage Therapist prides himself in envisioning developmental projects for the constituency of his birth, including money making developments and provision of empowerment to the people. He told the crowded hall, “I stand before you knowing that I am ready for this calling, ready to serve the people of St. James and Nevis!” To which Mr. Browne received a thunderous applause!
Coming from a well respected family where both parents were educators who raised a host of children some by birth and some through friends or family members, many persons believe Virgil and his family have exhibited good deeds that will help gain the St. James seat.
An emotional Virgil told the attentive audience, “As I look into the crowd this evening and I look at my parents, it reminds me of so many things: their standards, values, discipline, their hard work, and most importantly their service to their community and to this country of Nevis which adds up to about 80 plus years of service between them. What I am trying to say, is that service to community and service to this country is in my bloodline. They taught me well and so did this community and all that I am is because of my parents and I thank them!”
Mr. Browne asked the crowd, “After 20 years of St. James Parish showing their loyalty for the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) what has the residents of St. James have to show for it? There is high crime and no police station in the largest parish in Nevis? A medical school which is the best thing that they have done but it has not expanded to a capacity to support the many rental homes that I see are empty in this area. Then there is Candy Resort which started out as a hotel but will essentially be dorms directly competing with rental homes! Where is the Jetty and storage area for New Castle fishermen? Where are the 500 jobs? We have been lied to, used, disrespected and taken advantage of and it has to stop! “
The proud Leader of the Nevis Reformation Party, The Hon. Joseph Parry stated, ”I am proud to present Virgil Anthony Browne the latest in a long line of outstanding recruits from the Nevis Reformation Party. Virgil was born and bred in St. James parish. Virgil is an achiever who graduated from Sixth-Form College and worked in Water Services, worked as an electrician, taught himself woodwork and cabinetmaking. Mr. Browne was trained, certified and licensed as a Massage Therapist by the state of Florida, USA. He studied Air Traffic Control and Meteorology in Trinidad and Barbados respectively and worked at the Air Traffic Control Tower at the Nevis Airport. He later became a Massage Therapist with the West Indies Cricket Team and now he is the proud owner of XPetrol, the only gas station in the parish of St. James.”
Also giving accolades about the dynamic candidate were the St. James Executive President, Mr. Trevor “Carbo” Cornelius and Chairwoman for the night’s event, Mrs. Pat Jeffers.
