Diamonds International make sparkling gifts to Children’s Home!
Diamonds International has become a major supporter of the Children’s Home with the donation of $5,000 and two beautiful Safi Kilima necklaces as prizes to be raffled off at the Home’s upcoming Walk / Run event in hopes of raising additional funds.
The donations were graciously given by manager, Mr. Levin, to one of the Home’s fundraising committee members, Sebastian Mottram, in a ceremony held at the Diamonds International Port Zante store on Monday, 26th of September.
“A soon as we heard about the plight of the Home, we swiftly sought corporate approval to offer our support for such a worthy cause. Diamonds International was established over two decades ago and has stores in more than 130 locations, making it one of the largest jewellery retailers in the Caribbean and indeed the world. The founders of Diamonds International personally oversee every aspect of our daily operations: selling luxury jewellery, elegant time-pieces, and the finest gemstone at an unsurpassed value. When they heard of this wonderful fundraiser, they did not hesitate to approve the donations. Apart from the money value, we are pleased to donate two exclusive Safi
Kilima necklaces incorporating pure Tanzanite stones (value of $250 USD each), which will definitely add sparkle to your event. We recognize the valuable work accomplished by the St. Christopher Children’s Home. We see it as an essential service worthy of our support and are delighted that these funds will go towards providing a safe haven for children at risk in St Kitts and Nevis” as spoken directly from the main office.
Mottram explained that the Home operates on a budget of XCD 220,000 per annum. The Home receives valuable gifts from the community, and practical support from the government as well as a subvention. Nevertheless, the Walk / Run event has provided 90% of the operating costs of the Home for the past 6 years.
“We commend Diamonds International for their generous outreach and invite everyone to join us to support the St. Christopher Children’s Home at the 7th Annual 2k Family Walk and 5k Run at 3:00 pm. on Saturday, October 1st at the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club.”
